General
For a long time, it was thought impossible to get the sound of the classic German microphones of yesteryear via modern production methods. With the 017 FET large-diaphragm condenser, Soyuz have flipped the assumption on its head. Handmade in Tula, the microphone capital of Russia, the Soyuz 017 FET microphone delivers satin-smooth trebles without even a hint of shrillness; richly detailed mids that seem to wash over the listener, whether capturing vocals or instruments; and of course, the big, grandiose low-end that 47-style microphones are so renowned for. Because it only makes sense, this high-end tool comes neatly packed in a wooden case complete with a shockmount.
